Where does the time go? But it's nearly upon us, Henley Royal Regatta 2018 begins tomorrow and at HPP we can't wait. Believe it or not, and I hardly can, I have not missed a HR Regatta since birth - is this a record? Probably not, I'm sure there are hosts of other families out there for whom rowing was in many ways a religion, and the regatta was never to be missed. I was lucky enough to just turn 10 when the ruling changed about children under 10 in Stewards' Enclosure, so there I was, as a bouncing baby with my dress below my knee, enjoying the racing vibe, watching my father, a steward and finish judge do his thing.
You might think therefore, that I know everything there is to know about the Regatta. But far from it, rules change, events come and go, and some things just pass you by. So it struck me that for those who are visiting for the first time, there is so much to learn and understand, and it can get a bit overwhelming.
Well at HPP we firmly believe that the Regatta should above all things, be enjoyed, by competitors, coaches, officials and spectators. So we have produced a selection of helpful infographics to take the mystery out of it all and give you all the savvy you need to look like an old regatta pro. Please feel free to share them, print them and generally help everyone in your HRR network to have fun and enjoy the historic spectacle that is Henley Royal Regatta.
